In 2018, the International Water Mist Association (IWMA) will organize its annual conference for the 18th time. The venue will be London, UK. The dates will be 19th and 20th September. The conference hotel will be the Grange City Hotel. And: The conference webpage will be active from 15th May onwards.
The first day of the conference will be Applications Day. Speakers will focus on case studies and real fire incidents. This day can be booked separately. Day two will mainly be dedicated to sciences and research.
The exhibition, which will feature alongside the conference, will give delegates the chance to have a direct chat with – amongst other – manufacturers of water mist systems.
IWMA are again expecting delegates from around the globe to attend this event.
Over the years, the conference has taken place in almost all major European cities. Like always, there were others on the list of possible venues for 2018. “However, with the pictures of the burning Grenfell Tower still vivid in our heads, it was clear that we would opt for London”, explains IWMA General Manager Bettina McDowell.
She adds: “Those responsible for fire safety – architects, building engineers, fire consultants, local authorities responsible for social housing – should know at least some facts about all different technologies in order to make the right choice. ”
However, although water mist is not a new technology it is still rather unknown to quite a number of people in key positions. Taking into account how long the list of applications is and that the European Standard is on the horizon it is time to lift this technology onto the next level of publicity.
