Italian helmet brand KASK is pleased to announce long-term partnerships supporting two of Britain’s highest-performing sailing teams: America’s Cup challenger INEOS Britannia and the Great Britain SailGP Team. KASK is enormously proud to play its part in helping these teams make history in front of a global audience.
The America’s Cup is the oldest international sporting trophy in the world, and although it was founded in Britain, a British team have never actually won the Auld Mug. INEOS Britannia are aiming to change that. Led by Sir Ben Ainslie and backed by INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the team have chosen their partners carefully to push the boundaries of technology and engineering as they design their AC75 Racing Boat to compete in the 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona in 2024.
The Great Britain SailGP Team meanwhile, compete on the annual SailGP circuit which features nine national teams battling in short, intense races at iconic stadium-style venues across the globe, building to the Grand Final – and sailing’s top prize of $1million USD.
Based in Italy, KASK helmets are recognized around the world for their exceptional safety, eye-catching design, attention to detail, and all-round comfort. KASK is specialized in developing, designing, and manufacturing sport and safety helmets to the highest quality. In every field of application KASK helmets are at the forefront.
Both teams will wear KASK sailing helmets which have been uniquely engineered for their complex and demanding needs. They have been specifically engineered via a collaborative approach between the KASK R&D team and technicians and athletes from both teams.

The rules of the 37th America’s Cup mean that pedal power returns onboard the AC75 race boats. INEOS Britannia cycling athletes, known as ‘Cyclors’, have also drawn upon KASKs broader expertize in road cycling to wear KASK helmets. Road cycling forms an integral part of the cyclors’ training, with INEOS Britannia joining the INEOS Grenadiers’ training camp in Palma di Mallorca last December.
Neil Hunter, INEOS Britannia Cyclor and Great Britain SailGP Team Grinder commented:
“We are proud to have KASK supporting us as we race on the SailGP Circuit and as we train to compete in the 37th America’s Cup.”
“It’s a major benefit for the cyclors that they have products performing at the highest level across cycling and we couldn’t ask for a better partner to delivery and develop a safe but high performing helmet.”
As well as being worn during sailing and cycling, KASK’s safety helmets will also be used by both the shore and operations teams for all on-shore boat operations, including when the teams crane their high-speed race boats in and out of the water. INEOS Britannia will use KASK Zenith X Air Hi Viz helmets and the Great Britain SailGP Team will use the KASK Plasma AQ helmets.

Diego Zambon, General Manager at KASK said: “We are very proud to have been chosen by these two world-class teams who only partner with the very best in their field.”
“Both KASK Sport and KASK Safety have been involved in this partnership and will continue to work closely with INEOS Britannia and the Great Britain SailGP Team to ensure the needs of not only the sailors, but also the shore and operations staff, are met.”
“The safety of all those involved is of paramount importance, especially when the highly advanced boats get craned in and out of the water on a daily basis.”
Sir Ben Ainslie, CEO and driver of INEOS Britannia and the Great Britain SailGP Team said: “Both teams have huge goals to achieve and we rely on our partners to help us push the boundaries of technology and engineering so we can be the best in the field.”
“We chose KASK due to their helmets’ unrivalled safety, quality and attention to design that enables the highest performance to be achieved. We look forward to KASK joining us on our journey both on the water and on the bike.”
