The Polytector III G999C is a portable multi-gas detector combining all the well-known advantages for personal protection that come with GfG devices with the ability of analysing the air in confined spaces using an integrated pump. It is highly useful when entering potentially dangerous areas, such as shafts or vessels, but will of course also protect you when doing regular work in challenging conditions. Its sturdy and robust design makes it a reliable companion even in the most challenging working conditions, ensuring that you and your team are well-protected in hazardous situations. In addition to its slots for three electrochemical sensors (for toxic gases or oxygen), the G999C also comes with a slot for an infrared sensor (for CO2) as well as the possibility to add a catalytic combustion sensor (for flammable gases).

Certified safety for every application
The G999C is approved for use in Ex zone 1 and certified as protection class IP67, meaning it is well protected against the ingress of dust and water. Its housing is made of rubberized polycarbonate and offers excellent protection against any shocks and vibrations. Innovative and effective design guarantee that the device is comfortable to wear, while the three-button interface and color-backlit display ensure intuitive handling and menu navigation. For even better usability, small but useful details have been thought off as well: the display can be rotated by 180° at the push of a button and an explosion-proof flashlight will help you in situations with no ambient light.
High-quality components and advanced technology
The G999C’s internal NiMH battery will work for up to 130 hours, depending on the used sensor configuration and chosen operating mode. When sampling gases with the optional high-performance pump, you will be able to benefit from its sampling distance of up to 100 meters at speeds of around 0.6 liters per minute. However, the most important components of any gas detection device are the ones warning you of dangers. The G999C will alert you to dangerous gas concentration using three different alarm types: a visual signal, vibration and a loud (103 db(A)) buzzer. Chances of missing a warning are thus virtually zero.

GfG also offers a variety of accessories for the G999 gas detector series, including the DS400/404 docking stations. These docking stations can not only be used for charging, but also facilitate calibration and adjustment of your devices. For applications requiring you to analyze the air in confined spaces, for example when working in sewers or shafts, there are various suction tubes and floating probes specifically designed for different purposes. Another small and simple add-on that will significantly improve your workflow is the option to color-code your gas detectors using GfG diffusion cover plates that come in five different signal colors. For a full list of accessories, please refer to this overview.
A specialized model for every scenario
The G999C is only one of our Polytector III G999 series gas detectors. Other available devices include the G999P, G999E, G999M and – our most recent addition – the G999S. All G999 detectors come with 3 electrochemical and one infrared sensor. Depending on the model variant, they also feature a catalytic sensor (G999C & G999M), a PID sensor (G999P) or a fourth electrochemical sensor (G999E). The G999M is approved for use in mining operations while the G999S is specialised in methane measurement and leak detection. This wide range of options ensures that you will receive a gas detector tailored specifically to your individual needs for monitoring up to eight different gases or measuring ranges.
For teams using several portable gas detectors, we recommend equipping the team members’ devices with the optional radio module and connecting them to a TeamLink G999L. This system will allow the supervisor or leader of the operation to centrally monitor the measured values, status feedback and alarms of all connected gas detectors, ensuring that no team member is ever unaccounted for.
We also offer a wide range of other portable devices, as well as fixed gas detection systems consisting of controllers, transmitters or all-in-one units, solutions for water measurement and much more.
