Evac+Chair will be focusing on the importance of inclusivity in evacuation procedures when it showcases its leading range of evacuation chairs at FM Expo 2019, 17-19 September 2019, Dubai World Trade Centre.
With taller buildings, the evacuation risk increases, especially for occupants with a disability, or other mobility impairment. As a result, more consideration and careful planning must go into developing emergency procedures that prioritise the safety of all building occupants.
At FM Expo 2019, Evac+Chair will be performing on-stand demonstrations with a wide range of evacuation solutions that help to safely transport disabled or mobility impaired people down flights of stairs. By testing out the chairs for themselves, visitors will be able to experience just how easy they would be to use in an emergency situation.
Gary Hicks, manager, Evac+Chair International Middle East will also be speaking at the event to discuss the importance of developing and rehearsing evacuation procedures to keep building occupants safe in the event of a fire or other emergency. Gary will also be outlining the critical areas to consider when preparing and running effective emergency plans, whether dealing with a fire, power outage, terrorist threat, climate or environmental threat.
Evacuation procedures should not simply form part of a ‘tick box’ exercise. To be effective, they must be an integral part of your building or organisation’s culture and supported by transparent communication, training and drills so that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities and can act swiftly to minimise risk to life.
Evac+Chair International has been manufacturing its world-leading Evac+Chair in the UK for over 30 years, helping organisations to effectively plan and prepare for safe evacuation in multi-story buildings worldwide.
