NIOSH Malaysia recently shared “a study of health hazard exposures and control in the industry” regarding Cooling vest: an intervention of heat stress exposures in the construction industry.
Here are the key findings in the report:
- After sample examination, the constant temperature phase-change technology was successful in maintaining lower core, heart rate, and breathing rate during physical work than conventional vests.
- Bullard evaporative cooling vest and Bullard Isotherm® phase cooling vest were observed to have a significant different effect on summary metrics collected during construction work compared to conventional vests.
