We’re pleased to announce that we have a range of events, workshops and training sessions coming up in the next few months. These events have been developed in response to feedback and to address the topical issues affecting us all.
Design risk management workshops
Developed in partnership with the RIBA, these workshops are intended to provide construction industry designers, clients, contractors and other practitioners and professionals with knowledge of how to facilitate a CDM Project Review on any scale or type of project, identify significant risks, mitigate their impact, record the significant findings and produce suitable information to communicate these measures with others. Working in groups, delegates will examine and discuss scenarios and work with others to develop a design risk management strategy for each project.
CDM 2015 – Back to Basics
A half day workshop looking back at the changes to the regulations and providing a refresher on key themes and responsibilities. The workshop will be run by Nick Bell FIIRSM who writes and delivers accredited training for Principal Designers and for Construction clients.
Delegates will receive a recap on the regulations, including an update on basic legal duties; how to identify key duty holders; who is who in construction; when, why and how to appoint a principal designer; legal context and definitions; how to develop documentation and design risk management principles
Protecting your people: safety and security
Addressing new and emerging threats to businesses and people these regional events are designed to help you improve your employees’ safety and security. Experienced speakers will discuss counter terrorism measures, lone working, global travel safety, security training and policies. Identifying risk, reading behaviours, enforcement and developing policies to protect staff welfare and security when working, travelling or at leisure will all be covered.
AGM, seminar and President’s Reception
IIRSM members are invited to join the Council and team for the Annual General Meeting in December. The AGM will be followed by a seminar by RyderMarsh OCAID on the subject of leadership and its impact on organisational culture. Kevin Hard will explore how good or bad leadership can affect an organisation’s appetite to effectively manage risk.
