This year’s post-show statistics have uncovered several other successes from the show, making it their largest and most successful to date.

Mr Fazul Mohamed, CEO of the Kenyan Private Security Regulation Authority (PRSA) was invited to help open the 2019 edition of Securexpo East Africa and to share his view of what the future holds for the security industry in the region at the Opening Ceremony.

This year’s event took place between the 24th and 26th of September at the Visa Oshwal Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. This year, the show brought together a record-breaking 2,592 attendees over three exciting days of business, placing it 36% up from the previous year’s edition.

Welcoming industry professionals from 35 different countries, the diversification of the audience continues to grow year on year as does the show’s size itself. In square metres, Securexpo East Africa has seen an increase of 29% since 2018.

With 68 brands represented this year covering an array of sectors, there was a multitude of different products and services on display for visitors including applications for perimeter, homeland, cyber and commercial security in addition to fire and safety.

Among those exhibiting were Acsys, Arma Kontrol, Axxonsoft, Booth Fire Protection, Bristol Fire, Cathexis, Centurion, Chief Fire Officers Association Kenya, HSE East Africa, Hudaco East Africa, Hytera, IP River, Kenyan Security Industry Association (KSIA), Matrix Comsec, Norinco, Suprema, Turnstar Systems, Trackforce and many more. You can view the full exhibitor list via the website.

“Overall, the show was a great success. We were able to meet majority of our existing clients as well as new prospects. We were happy with both quality of visitors and leads thereof. Great chance to showcase new products.” Ryan Dougall, Africa Export Manager, Turnstar Systems.

The co-located event Firexpo East Africa also grew as a stand-alone feature dedicated to the fire safety industry and saw some of the market’s leading brands present their products to an engaged audience. Furthermore, the health and safety dedicated side to the show, K-OSH saw great results this year, boasting more exhibiting brands than ever.

The annual Conference took place once again this year and welcomed hundreds of guests as leading experts took to the stage to impart their industry knowledge and insights. Some of the most popular topics this year included ‘Security Trends in Kenya’, a topic presented by Mr Augustine Lokwang Ekitela, Secretary General of ACISMP and sponsored by Tracom Solutions. Another popular session this year was ‘IT Security – The Emerging Threats’ presented by Mr Silvanus Sewe, the Chairman of KEPSA.

Alexander Angus, the Regional Director for Montgomery East Africa had this to say on the results from this year’s event; “As a team, we are absolutely delighted with this year’s results. We saw our busiest event to date and the feedback we’ve had from our exhibitors has been overwhelmingly positive. I think the figures reflect the industry feeling at the moment, there’s a huge amount of investment being poured into Kenya and East Africa, and with the technological evolution occurring at the moment, there’s a strong demand for up-to-date security, fire and safety solutions. We’re excited to take learnings from this year and apply them to the 2020 edition. One of our main changes will be to change venue to the newly-constructed Sarit Centre Exhibition Centre, this is to accommodate our fast growth.”

Next year’s event will be held from the 10th – 12th of November 2020 at the Sarit Exhibition Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. With the event’s expected continued growth, organisers will look to attract more than 3,000 professionals with more than 100 brands present. Taking place at the brand-new purpose-built Sarit Exhibition Centre, both exhibitors and organisers alike are said to have welcomed the change in venue as it will allow the expo to continue growing year on year, providing more local amenities and accessibility.

Following this year’s successful edition, brands have already begun rebooking for 2020 and space on the floor is filling up fast. Those interested in taking part can make an enquiry via the International Sales Manager, Ben Dale by contacting him on [email protected] or via telephone at T: +44 (0)20 7886 3048.

The exhibition will remain completely free to attend. Whilst official registration isn’t yet open, those interested in attending can pre-register online via the website to remain abreast of show information as it evolves.
